Our Statement of Faith

God is three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are all equally God.

God the Father is the source of all power and authority. He made all things that have been made and guides the course of events according to His justice, mercy and love.

The Son, Jesus Christ, is the perfect revelation of the Father. He is fully God and fully man, being born of the Virgin Mary. He was sentenced to death by Pontius Pilate, descended into Hell but came alive on the third day. He ascended into heaven and will return to earth one day as Judge.

The function of the third Person, Holy Spirit, is to honour Jesus and make him known. He brings new life to people by showing them their sinfulness and revealing Jesus as Saviour. He enables Christians to become more like Christ in daily life. God, the Holy Spirit, inspired the original writers of the Bible.

The Bible reveals God's thoughts, intentions and requirements and is the standard by which everything must be judged. God is perfect and holy. He made man in order to have fellowship with him. Man was created in God's image, but then rebelled against Him, so breaking off his relationship with his creator.

Man alone can do nothing to mend this situation and is separated from God forever. However, God's love for His Creation was so great that He sent Jesus His Son. Through His death and resurrection those who believe in Jesus are made holy and share in God's eternal life.

The Church is the body of Christ on earth and consists of all true believers. It meets as local gatherings seeking the direction of the Holy Spirit to determine its activities. Every Christian should seek to serve God by a life of obedience to Christ. All believers await the personal, physical return of Christ.
