HOW I MET JESUS - BY DEREK
My name is Derek. I am 49 years old and come from Port Talbot, in South Wales.
This is my story of how I met Jesus.
On the 13th March 2006 I lost one of the most important people in my life, my Dad. He had been ill for quite some time and was in so much pain that he just wanted to die. He had been in and out of hospital for months.
This was, as you can imagine, a terrible time for all my family. But it was just around this time that strange feelings were starting to happen in my life.
I felt all the way through my Dad's illness that I was being watched over by what I can only describe as a guardian angel. Eventually my Dad passed on.
Then in January of 2007, just after my wife and I were getting over his passing, my wife had the news that she had developed breast cancer.
She had three operations including a Lumpectomy and a Mastectomy .She then had six months of Chemotherapy and finally a month of Radiotherapy.
The strange feelings I had of a guardian angel returned. My wife, who was already a Christian, asked me if I would like to go along to the church that she attends at Port Talbot.
It was an amazing experience. It was not like any church that I had ever been to before. The songs were modern contemporary Christian songs and the words were up on a large screen. The people were all moved by the music and worship.
It was then that I realized that my guardian angel was in fact Jesus Christ. It wasn't long after that I gave my life to him.
My wife has had a clean bill of health for over a year now. She had scans last July and the good news was that they all returned back clear. I pray every day that the disease doesn't return and so far Jesus has not let us down.
He came into my life and He can come into yours.
